Easy as it sounds; check your credit! You truly don’t know your financial situation until you know what lenders will be seeing. Your credit score not only determines what you’re approved for but will help lenders offer better interest rates and incentives for having a great credit score.
Once you see your credit and aren’t completely happy with your score, look at paying down your balances and boost your score within that timeline you’ve set for yourself to purchase your new home.
Looking into the neighborhood, area, and type of home you want is important. Each neighborhood offers different valuables amenities and may have higher home values than others. Once you know where you want to establish your future, consider the size of the home, extended features, and other elements you absolutely need for your family. Once you narrow down your needs, you’re better able to understand the price difference in neighborhoods and different types of homes. It's important to research and consider your sources when looking at the type of home you’ll be investing in.
And then comes the big step … APPLY! Once you apply and get your pre-approval, you’re in the clear to really dig into searching for your home and getting steps closer to stepping into your new home.
